Capricorns are cardinal earth signs that are ambitious, practical and are likely to have an excellent sense of social responsibilities. They are relentless and determined to overcome whatever stands in their way. They are skilled at navigating both material and emotional realms. They are driven yet cautious. Though they may seem a bit conservative and restrained at first, they do have mischievous troublemaker tendencies. If unbalanced they tend to be conscious of social norms and can suffer from feeling insecure.
Constellation and Mythology
The constellation is located in the southern hemisphere between Sagittarius and Aquarius. It is a relatively faint constellation with only its brightest star debab. Latin for “horned goat” or goat form or “having horns like a goat. Sometimes identified as Amalthea, the goat that suckled the infant Zeus after his mother, Rhea, saved him from being devoured by his father, Chronus. Amalthea’s broken horn was transformed into Cornucopia, or “horn of plenty”. Also identified as Pan, the god with a goat’s horns and legs who saved himself from the monster, Typhon by giving himself a fishes tail and diving into a river.
