Healing The Ego To Uncover Your Soul

Healing The Ego To Uncover Your Soul

Spread the love

Have you ever felt that there are two parts of you? Like there’s a part of yourself who you label yourself to be, but then there’s another part of you; your innermost part of yourself, where your desires, your core values and aspects of yourself resides? Every soul on earth is different in a sense, we all have our own beliefs, patterns and perceptions, but at points we could be in a constant battle in our heads between our two selves; what society and people around us expect us to be and who we truly are. It is said that we spend our whole life trying to find ourselves, but the thing is, who we are is already there, it’s just unlearning and letting go of all of what society norms put onto us in order to find our true self.  It is known that social media affects us but how much does it affect our ego? The sense of this modern world we live in has truly put a damper on being our most authentic selves. Modern social norms are being broadcasted on all social media platforms, and we are able to create many different versions of ourselves online. Since this huge rise of the online and digital world, the rise in people living in their ego is at an all time high. For those who have become awakened and more self aware are seeing the impact of the media and outer influences on one’s ego.

What is The Ego?

The ego exists in the conscious mind that is a part of your identity that you consider “yourself”. It is based upon beliefs on what we are that breaks down to our personalities, talents and abilities. This ego self is a false narrative that is majorly influenced by surrounding energies and social norms. This is a mask that a lot of people hide behind. It is the self important and self righteous side to one self. The truth of the matter is that the identity the ego makes us think we are, is fake, is a persona and is an unhealthy belief in our own purpose. Being trapped in an ego based perception makes you dependent on external validation and keeps you out of touch with reality. This false narrative of oneself creates unrealistic expectations and a sense of entitlement.

What is The Soul?

The soul on the other hand, is who we are at a core level. It’s our true self and who we are at our most vulnerable moments. This is a side of yourselves that we tend to hide, or not embrace as much as we should. This side of yourself is who you are when you are alone, without any external influences. It’s your inner thoughts, inner voice, your dreams and ambitions. It is your moral compass and direction. It is the creative side of yourself that is carefree and full of life. When we are children, before society molds us into acting and living out of our egos, we are our true self, our souls shine so bright, but after time that side of yourself slowly slips away. What most people don’t realize is that we are spiritual beings having a human experience; the goal isn’t to “find” yourself, because that part of yourself is already there, the goal is to embrace the most authentic parts of ourselves, despite society norms.

Dark Night of The Soul

When an individual becomes aware of what is their ego and what is their soul, or in other words, has a spiritual awakening, they have to shed whatever is unauthentic so they can be their true self and their highest potential. When this process happens, it can seem exciting at first, more positive and uplifting. It is in the beginning of your journey of uncovering your true essence where you are guided by wisdom and lightness of your soul, but where there is lightness, there is darkness as one cannot exist without the other. The dark night of the soul happens just before enlightenment or a revelation, when everything is lost and seems dark. This can look like a major depressive, life shattering time in your life. During this time is where individuals do Shadow Work – which uncovers a lot of unhealed trauma and aspects of oneself. Going through the dark night of the soul has you living in your shadow, and is the lowest of lows. It comes with lots of withdrawing from the world and people around you. It shatters your belief system and sends you basically into an identity crisis. Everything you once believed in, you are questioning. You have gained a different perception than what you had in the past. To some who are unaware of this cycle, may not realize that you will get out of the darkness, but it is just a stage one must go through in order to truly be enlightened.

Ego Death

What is it exactly ? Ego Death is the process of shedding all layers and parts of yourself that are unauthentic and breaking away from barriers that come from trauma, mental health and limiting self beliefs that hold you back. This process happens during the end of the dark night of the soul. When someone endures an ego death, it involves getting rid of the label, getting rid of the ego you hide behind and to be your true self. When an individual is self aware, they are able to determine what part of themselves is their ego, what perceptions are ego based and what perceptions are soul based, with doing so they are able to learn and grow to become their highest self. It’s not what we are, it’s who we are, and being able to embrace all parts of ourselves, so we have a balance, so we can learn and grow. During an ego death, we also lose relationships around us that no longer serve us. This can be for many reasons, but because you are more awake and aware, you are able to see the egos of others that they hide behind, and when we heal and grow our vibrations change frequencies, some of which don’t match the ones around us. Since we are constantly growing and evolving we tend to drift away from situations and people who surround us; even though we are not physically around them, they can still affect our energy field. This is called Cord Of Attachments. In order to fully endure an ego death, then these attachments must be severed. That way there is nothing that is holding your soul back so you can move forward.

Rebirth

We as people seem to be at constant war between the ego and the soul. The thing is to accept all parts of ourselves and find a balance between the two. There will be times where the ego will want to over power the soul and it’s up to each individual to keep it at bay. Just like how we have to have a balance between our ego and our souls, we must also have a balance between our masculine and feminine energy, also known as the yin and yang. When we are balanced, accept and embrace all parts of ourselves we are able to live in the most authentic way. When you want to become enlightened, when you want to become your true highest self, you will have to endure a heck of a lot of darkness. The reason for this is for the transformation to happen, you have to learn, grow and heal to fully embrace your soul… and just like a Phoenix we can rise from the ashes.
