The Three Lost Continents
It has always been said that there are 7 continents, but what if we have been taught wrong? There have been myths of lost cities and lost continents for centuries and it’s hard not to think those stories came from somewhere. In this day and age there have been more discoveries of lost land submerged under water. Approximately only 5% of the oceans have been discovered, that leaves 95% unexplored. It’s pretty hard to believe that we know more about space than what’s under water. What if this information is known, but kept on the downlow? As more and more information is being brought to light, it could be a possibility!
What are Continents?
The definition of a continent is any division of land on earth. The seven continents are Africa, Asia, Antarctica, Australia/Oceania, Europe, North America and South America. As of today the earth is 4.543 billion years old, and there has been scientific proof of continental shifts along the years. It’s not so far-fetched to theories that some of these land masses submerged under water. There have been many stories about lost lands, but they have been dismissed and portrayed as myths. As the world progressed into today’s society, esoteric theories and practices were deemed as “pretend” and have been a non-belief system to the majority of people. So who’s to say, that may be the old way of thinking and reality because people were not able to comprehend what the earth and the world actually is?
Lost World of Atlantis
The lost city of Atlantis is the most popular one out of the three. This story started off in the writing of the ancient Greek philosopher Plato in 360BC. Plato said that the founders of Atlantis were half god, half human and they created a utopian civilization and became great in naval power. Their home was made up of concentric islands separated by wide moats and linked by a canal that penetrated to the center. Plato says that the city and all of the civilization was destroyed in one day and one night caused by strong earthquakes and floods.
This story was portrayed in many movies, and pulp culture entertainment, but there have been many documentaries and articles about The lost city of Atlantis. Many geophysicists have set out to find the location of Atlantis from Plato’s descriptions. There are a few different locations where geophysicists think it may be. Marc Gutscher, a geophysicist, believes it is in the Atlantic Ocean, a path for boats to travel. In this area the island of Atlantis would sit on a subduction zone, a boundary between huge tectonic plates that would make up the earth’s surface. This zone is the exact point where the biggest earthquakes strike, the location and the geology of this zone supports Plato’s scripture. Submerged under water is in fact land, and if it is Atlantis it would be over 11 000 years old. Geologists have inspected the area, but found no tangle evidence that humans lived on that land. Even though there is no tangible evidence, Gutscher believes that this land is Atlantis.
Lost World of Lemuria
Lemuria is believed to have been a continent where heaven was a place on earth, that was populated by a peaceful and highly intelligent race of people that existed millions of years ago. In this community, life worked in harmony, all beings were seen as equal and deeply connected to mother Earth. In 1860 a German biologist Ernst Haekel published content about Lemuria. He stated that Lemuria was the cradle and origin of mankind, then later people migrated to the other continents. Lemuria is located in the south between and connected India, Australia and Madagascar, the land is submerged under water, after ether ocean levels rose, when the last ice age ended. due to a flood. .
The story of Lemuria is quite similar to the story of Tami legend Kumari Kandam. The ancient Tamil culture of South India is believed to predate both the Sumerian and Egyptian civilizations. In ancient Sangam literature, it talks about an advance Tamil civilization flourishing in the now submerged continent of Kumari Kandam thousands of years ago. A lot of people believe that not just Tamil, but the whole of humanity is descended from the dwellers of Kumari Kandam, and is believed that Tamil culture is the foundation of many enlightened cultures. According to researchers the continent of Kumari Kandam was separated from the mainland sometime during the Mesozoic era because of the rising waters. Wiping out, not only an entire continent, but an entire civilization that existed on Earth.
Lost World of Mu
The lost world of Mu was first talked about by Auguste Le Prongeon, a British American photographer and explorer. He traveled to South America photographing ancient sites and was amongst the first people to photograph and study the mind city of Citsunitza. He believed in the theory of Atlantis and says it links with the Mayan and civilization of ancient egypt. In his books; Sacred Mysteries Among the Mayans and Guiches – 1886 and The Queen Mu and Egyptian Sphinx 1896, Auguste interpreted part of the text of the Tiana Codes, revealing that the Maya and Yucatan were the ancestors of the Egyptians, and similar to Atlantis there is another ancient continent called Mu. He stated the location of this ancient continent was in the Pacific Ocean, but was submerged underwater. He described Mu as an advanced level of civilization and where mankind originated from.
Years after this theory was announced, James Churchill -a explorer and educator on India and Tibet- did his own research and in the early 1930’s came out with a series of books on The Lost Continent of Mu. His theories are similar to Prongeon, but he described the location of this Continent where Lemuria was located.
The land of Mu is often mixed up with Lemuria, some people believe Mu is where Lemuria is and some believe that Lemuria is Mu. The thing that sets them apart is instead of one big solid Island that Lemuria is, Mu is broken up into smaller islands close to one another. The civilizations of Mu and Lemuria are similar, which is why both of them seem to coincide together. It has been hard for geophysics to find tangible evidence of Mu in the Pacific Ocean because there are smaller pieces of land that made one.
Fact or Myth?
There’s always going to be multiple versions of these lost civilizations, but after intensive research it has come to the conclusion that Atlantis, Lemuria and Mu are all different civilizations located in different areas. Mu is located in the Pacific Ocean, Lemuria is located in the Indian Ocean and Atlantis is located in the Atlantic Ocean. Is it so far-fetched to say that all these colonies existed at the same time? That this was earth before the great flood the bible talked about. The more and more research and information is being brought to light makes these syncorities and coincidences much more related than we used to think.
